On Sunday our recently formed Vets team, some of whom are not exactly what you would describe as being perfectly formed, under the management of Paul Isherwood and Mel Grime played the second pool game of the Umbro over 40′s Cup. Despite having the majority of possession, in a fiercly contested game they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Burnley Miners who have been established for a number of years. However if the atmosphere in the club house is anything to judge by the lads were far from dispirited and remain positive as they look forward to welcoming Harrogate Town Vets, early in January at the Rydings, who have several well known ex premier league players in their ranks.
Thanks to Lucy Isherwood and friends who provided after match refreshments, spud pie and hot dogs for the kids, to both players and supporters which were well received and rounded of another great afternoon for Langho FC.
On Saturday the Reserves lost to Burnley Grammar School Old Boys 4-1, after going conceding 4 early goals the lads didn’t buckle and fought hard to get back into the game, however despite their efforts they could only manage 1 goal in reply.
