John Warton and Mark Neild competed for the snooker final watched by friends and family members. Mark was victorious 3-0 and took home the prize money – well done! Thanks from Langho for all those who took part in the competition.

Langho FC will be holding their annual Golf tournament on Friday 18th September 2009 at Wilpshire Golf Club. Teams of 4 are invited to compete in this ‘Texas Scramble’ event which tees off at 12:30pm with a shotgun start.
Entry fees are £180 per team of four which includes a bacon sandwich brunch and three course meal.
Prizes will be awarded for leading teams along with various spot prizes.

Well done to George Walsh and Steve “Bossy” Boswell for winning the Langho Snooker doubles final. It was a closely fought contest (only joking!!) ; actually a beating  3-nil…..as they waltzed off with the prize money.

Langho are currently looking for a volunteer to take on the role of club treasurer. The club’s current treasurer, Steve Boswell, will officially stand down at the AGM on 2nd December 2008. If you wish to know further details of the role, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would like to personally thank Steve for his hard work during the last two years, a period in which we have managed to stay financially secure and pay off the remainder of the money borrowed to build the clubhouse.

The final stages of the Snooker Singles Knockout competition drew to a close last week with Neil Harrison taking 3rd place against Frank Boswell. The final and ultimate prize money was won by Ian Boswell (right) in a 2 – nil victory over John Warton (left) !!  

Hopefully the Snooker Doubles Knockout planned for the New Year will also see some canny play!

Congratulations to John Bateson for claiming the title of ‘Langho Poker Champion – Spring 2008′. John overtook previous leader, Antony Reader, in the final week of the three month league to win the competition. Antony could take heart however in the fact that he earned the most cash throughout the thirteen week tournament.

The Summer tournament meanwhile began on Wednesday 4th June 2008 and players are still welcome to join the weekly league games.
